Securing the Future --

Cyber security leaders join California state and local government security professionals to discuss solutions to the evolving cyber security challenges that face government today.

Topics will include the critical issues of establishing a threat and vulnerability management program, privacy and data protection and the role intrusion detection plays in an organization's overall security strategy.

The day will end with an informative and light-hearted presentation by Dr. Kevin Kealy, AT&T Lab's Security Scientist on "Securing the Future," what every organization needs to know about how to safeguard data and systems as IT staff moves in and out of an organziation.

California's Executive Officer of Information Security and Privacy Protection, Mark Weatherford, will be hosting the summit, held on Thursday, May 14 at the Sacramento Convention Center.

CEO Mark Hurd, who in four years took Hewlett-Packard from an industry doormat to the world's biggest technology company and one of the most admired, will deliver the opening day keynote on Tuesday, May 12 at the Conference on California's Future.

Under his leadership, HP has become a benchmark for efficiency. Currently it is in the final stages of a large consolidation that has reduced the number of data centers by 65%, with a target of 95% completion by project end.

The story of HP's successful consolidation is very relevant to California leaders, considering that Hewlett-Packard and the state of California are of comparable magnitude.

You won't want to miss this keynote, so mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 12 at 10:30am!
